Lead Acid batteries are an expensive yet crucial infra item at the site. The electric configuration set at the site charges the batteries time to time as required
The sulphation causes the batteries to discharge very fast and hence not being able to provide the necessary back-up duration.
Improper charging/ discharging causes sulphation on the battery lead plates. This sulphation results into increased resistance and battery starts consuming more power and consequently causes heating up of the unit.
Such batteries need “Regeneration” - A very unique process of recharging through short pulses of high voltage. Without a significant current flow, sufficient duration is achieved to reverse crystallisation/ sulphation.
Regeneration restores the battery capacity to as good as new and enables using old and sulphated batteries. However, it requires the right equipment, right technique & right methodology.
